Dr. Janeen Ferraro and staff at Ocean Dental invite you to come and experience our high standard of dentistry performed with gentle, caring and personal attention. Our philosophy is to provide great dentistry in a friendly, comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Dentistry does not need to be a painful experience. Let us surprise you and put all of your fears to rest.
Whether it’s been years since your last visit or you are looking for a new dentist, let us help you to achieve and maintain your optimal oral health. At Ocean Dental we believe educated patients are happy patients, this is why we will take the time to educate and involve you in every step of your treatment. We welcome you to take a look at the services and specials we offer.
Our Preventive Care Services combine advanced hygiene techniques and homecare counseling to achieve optimal oral health. In addition to traditional scaling and prophylaxis (dental cleaning), we use the Cavitron to clean the teeth and gums. A Cavitron is a dental tool that utilizes high frequency ultrasonic waves to vibrate plaque, calculus and debris off the teeth.
Comprehensive examinations and Oral Hygiene Instruction (brushing and flossing techniques) help our patient’s to maintain proper homecare.
Oral cancer screenings are also an integral part of the oral examination. Oral Cancer is on the rise with the increased incidence of these types of cancers being linked to HPV (Human PapillomaVirus) and being diagnosed in younger populations. We want our patients to know that oral cancer is not just linked with excessive alcohol and tobacco exposure.
Restorative Dentistry encompasses many methods required to rehabilitate the dentition so that it is
functional and aesthetic. We offer dental treatment options that look great, feel great and are long
lasting. With the many improvements in dental materials and technology, restorative techniques
overlap with cosmetic dentistry. Today’s restorations (crowns, bridges, dentures and partials) are all
designed to look natural and improve one’s existing appearance.
Crowns: Crowns are used to restore teeth when they are fractured, damaged, chipped or have had
previous root canal therapy. Crowns can be made from porcelain fused to metal material or metal-free
alternatives such as all-ceramic or zirconium.
Bridgework: A dental bridge is used to anchor neighboring teeth when one or more adjacent teeth is missing. The bridge will have a natural looking prosthetic replacement to replace the spaces from missing teeth. This type of restoration does require the preparation or alteration of teeth to support the bridge. Most bridgework is fabricated using a combination of precious metals and porcelain. There are highly esthetic materials that are metal-free which can be used for bridges depending on the clinical situation.
Esthetic Fillings: Our office is Amalgam free. We only remove old, cracked silver fillings and replace them with natural tooth colored restorations when necessary. Dental composites are stronger and more durable and offer so many shades to match your teeth.
Implant Restorations: A dental implant is an artificial tooth root placed in the jaw to replace a missing tooth or teeth. Implants can be used to anchor a single crown, a bridge or a denture. Implants are very predictable and have a high success rate. They are an excellent option for long term restorations.
Dentures: Today’s dentures are more comfortable and esthetic than ever. Newer materials allow them to look and feel great. When dentures are anchored with Implants, one can speak and eat with comfort
Our cosmetic services offer a wide variety of choices to help you achieve your perfect smile. There have been so many advances in cosmetic dentistry that you can have a beautiful, healthy smile in two or three visits. We can help you have a straighter, brighter, whiter smile with bonding or veneers. Both of these options can cover imperfections such as cracks, chips and discoloration on your teeth.
Discolored and stained teeth can be treated with cosmetic whitening procedures. We offer both In-Office Whitening and Take-home options depending on your preference and budget. The Whitening products offered in our office have improved formulations so they are effective and contain ingredients to help reduce post-treatment sensitivity. We are here to help you find the right Cosmetic solution that will achieve the results you are looking for. With new advances in digital technology, you can preview your new smile before the procedure even begins. Ask us about how you can view your virtual smile!
We strive to educate our patients about disease prevention. We want you to understand that the mouth is connected to the rest of the body&emdash;when the mouth is unhealthy, the rest of the body is unhealthy. We know that there is a systemic link between periodontal disease and cardiovascular disease, diabetes, stroke, pulmonary infections, pre-term low birth weight babies, obesity and cancer.
We are a Certified Invisalign® Provider The Invisalign system is a series of clear aligners used to straighten teeth. Invisalign is removable. Unlike braces, you have the flexibility to eat and drink what you want during treatment simply by removing the aligners when you eat. You can also remove the aligners to brush and floss as you normally would for fresh breath and good oral hygiene. Unlike traditional metal braces, Invisalign does not use metal brackets or wires that could cause irritation to your mouth.

Digital X-rays offer several advantages over traditional X-rays, allowing us to make a more thorough and more accurate analysis of your dental health.
Digital X-rays use the same kind of X-ray technology, but the X-rays are converted to digital pictures that are sent immediately to a computer. The pictures can be viewed right away and are stored on the computer. Digital X-rays allow us to keep better track of changes in your teeth that might go unnoticed with regular X-ray technology. These records are fast and efficient and reduces a patient’s radiation exposure by 70%.
The camera is an invaluable tool in the dental office. Its helps with Doctor-Patient communication and helps to educate patients about what we see going on in their mouth. A picture of your tooth or teeth can help to visualize fractures, cracks, leaking margins and recurrent decay. You will be able to see what the doctor or hygienist sees and have a better understanding of your oral health. The images that are captured may be used to supply insurance companies with necessary documentation or to communicate to another dental specialist.
